(2) Part of the area is in one or more adjacent states.
(3) All of the area is in one or more adjacent states.
(4) Data not available.
(p) = preliminary.
NOTE: Data are counts of jobs by place of work. State and area data
are currently projected from 2004 benchmark levels. When more recent
benchmark data are introduced with the release of January 2006
estimates, unadjusted data from April 2004 are subjected to revision.
Area definitions are based on Office of Management
and Budget Bulletin No. 04-03, dated February 18, 2004, and are
available at http://www.bls.gov/lau/lausmsa.htm and in the May
issue of Employment and Earnings. Areas in the six New England
states are Metropolitan New England City and Town Areas (NECTAs),
while areas in other states are county-based. Some metropolitan
areas lie in two or more states. They are listed under the state
that appears first in their titles. Some divisions lie in more
than one state, and some, like Camden, N.J., are totally outside
the states under which their metropolitan areas are listed.
