Daniel Goldhagen's book on the Holocaust, Hitler's Willing Executioners (Knopf, March 1996), was described incorrectly in Charles Kindleberger's "Last Word" column in the November/December 2000 issue of TIE. The book contends that many German citizens were aware of the genocide of Jews during World War II and abetted Hitler's efforts to exterminate them. TIE regrets the error.
