Masthead, The, Autumn, 2007

Lois Kazakoff, deputy editorial page editor at the San Francisco Chronicle, has been named to the NCEW board of directors.

She is filling the unexpired term of Shelley Epstein. Epstein took an early retirement from his position at the Journal Star in Peoria, Illinois. Prior to her current position, she was the editor of The Chronicle's Sunday commentary section, Chronicle Sunday, the Open Forum editor, and a business writer and editor. She received a bachelor of arts degree in French from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a master of science of journalism degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.

She lives in Benicia, California.
