Algerian Energy Company hires US firm to build $205m desalination plant

* The Algerian Energy Company has selected separations technology company Ionics for a 25-year sea water desalination build-own-operate project. Ionics and AEC will form a joint project company to finance, build and operate the plant, with Ionics owning a majority interest in the $205m project.
