"AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

CHANGE is an international organisation based in London, operating with and through contacts all over the world.

CHANGE aims to educate and alert public attention to the inequalities that impose on women through law, practice and custom and to advance the recognition of the inalienable human rights of women. We have led many campaigning and advocacy activities, especially in recognising violations of women's human rights in private and in public whether by state, corporate body or individual...

CHANGE was founded by Georgina Ashworth in 1979 in response to the absence of interest in women s human rights within mainstream human rights and development organisations...

CHANGE remains at the cutting edge raising new and difficult issues.

CHANGE is financed by grants for specific programmes, and by donations - and especially supporters.

CHANGE has published many original reports and Thinkbooks...

ACTIVISM

CHANGE fulfils its aims through research, publications, the dissemination of information and lobbying.

CHANGE has collaborated with the British Council, the Council of Europe, the Commonwealth Secretariat and the United Nations on research, advocacy and training programmes.

CHANGE was the originator of several networks...

CURRENT RESEARCH

CHANGE will launch its "Best Governance" Programme in 2002 bringing together all the most successful equality creating changes.

A worldwide Anti-Trafficking Programme (ATP) in women is running at CHANGE. It is currently conducting a worldwide survey of best practices and public policies relating to trafficking of women."
