Johnson Control Inc.'s latest platform for its interior concepts, the Vios, has front seats that are attached at the rear to crossbeams, rather than directly to the floor. This allows the rear seats to be pushed underneath the front seats for more room and greater interior flexibility. Additional room is created by dropping the spare tire in favor of a run-flat tire system from Michelin.
