Cognex Corp. has introduced PatFlexTM, the newest member of their PatMax family of geometric pattern finding technologies. PatFlex is a patent pending software tool that is designed to enable a vision system to locate an object, feature, or pattern whose perspective has changed or whose surface is curved, warped, wrinkled or stretched. PatFlex was made for a variety of applications, PatFlex was engineered to enable the optical verification of characters marked on curved surfaces, where perspective and bow distortions are common. The system is also made to tolerate skew and aspect compression of the mark, as well as distortions caused by vibrations in the marking operation. Cognex Corp., wwvw.cognex.com.
