> MEMSIC, a provider of CMOS-based MEMS accelerometers/sensors, recently formed an alliance with Honeywell, a diversified technology and manufacturing company, to create the first in a new series of three-axis magnetic sensor products made for the compass designer. The HMC1055 consists of Honeywell's magnetic sensors and MEMSIC's dual-axis accelerometer, which is used as a tilt sensor and is designed to provide the sensing elements needed to make an electronically gimbaled compass.
