DuPont supplies its Rynite PET thermoplastic polyester to motor manufacturer Pacific Scientific for use in the Segway Human Transporter (HT). The motors in the HT are about 40 percent smaller than conventional designs because of a novel encapsulated stator made of DuPont's material. The design is an advancement of Pacific Scientific's proprietary stator encapsulation technology, jointly developed with DuPont.
