Swedes May Build Cars In U.S

Automotive Industries,  July, 1999

Volvo says it's considering building some of its next generation of cars at Ford's U.S. plants. "It's in the nature of things that we at some time will have industrial production in North America," hints chief executive Tuve Johannesson. Volvo's worldwide annual car production has been about 400,000.

The company recently closed its CKD assembly plant in Nova Scotia, which built 700-series station wagons.
