SACHS Automotive of America and Piston Automotive will build suspension components together at a newly formed $50 million joint venture located in Detroit.
PASA Modules LLC will build shock modules for Ford Motor Co.'s Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition starting in about six months. The modules -- designed by SACHS with collaboration by Ford -- will be built at a rate of 750,000 units a year.
"PASA has tremendous growth potential," says Julio Caspari, president of SACHS of America. PASA hopes to add an additional car contract in the next year, he adds.

PASA will be held 51 percent by Piston and 49 percent by SACHS.
