802.11 - Along with 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g (the fastest), a specification for wireless LANs established by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. 802.11 connectivity standards are typically one or more orders of magnitude faster than celular connectivity solutions in the context of in-vehicle/telematics usage scenarios. However, they support far more limited range.
