Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedGM, Fiat, Suzuki consider India JV
Automotive Industries, August, 2002 by Andrea Wielgat
Global alliance members General Motors Corp., Fiat SpA and Suzuki Motors Corp. are considering extending their venture to cover the growing Indian market. The companies are in talks to recognize areas where they could share resources including products, brand marketing and engines. All three companies produce vehicles in the market but have seen increased competition from other automakers.
Experts say sales in India will grow 10 percent during the next 10 years from the current 600,000 sales each year.
