In Their Own Words - Brigadier General Paul W. Tibbets' attitude toward Toyotas - Brief Article

Automotive Industries,  Sept, 2000  by Paul W. Tibbets

"I drive a Toyota myself. I bought a Toyota because at the time I was looking at cars, I thought it was the best one out there for me. I looked around and decided that American carmakers were giving you what they wanted to give you, not what you wanted to drive.

"I like my Toyota. I don't hold any grudges. It's a good product, it's what I needed, so I bought it."

Brig. General Paul W. Tibbets, USAF (Ret.), 85 years old, who piloted the B-29 Superfortress that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, in August 1945. From the recent book Duty, by Bob Greene (Wm. Morrow).
