Akzo Noel Coatings acquires the North America and Asia/Pacific powder coatings businesses of Ferro Corp. for $73 million. Ferro is based in Cleveland, Ohio, while Akzo Nobel is based in Troy, Mich., with headquarters in the Netherlands. Akzo will take over facilities in Nashville, Tenn.; Brecksville, Ohio; Ningbo, China and a joint venture in Ulsan, South Korea.
