Smart Business Gets New Publisher

Gordon lee Jones has been appointed publisher of Ziff Davis Smart Business for the New Economy. Jones brings extensive experience and knowledge of business, consumer and technology publishing to the magazine, which has over six million readers.

Jones replaces Greg Mason, who left to pursue other interests. He will be based in New York and report directly to Bill Flatley, executive vice president of Ziff Davis Media's consumer magazine group.

Most recently, Jones served as senior vice president/group publisher of Entrepreneur Media Inc. Prior to that, he spent five years as New York advertising director for Newsweek.

Advertising and Sales Don Cataldi has been named director of advertising at Smithsonian, from national sales manager. Sarah F. Collins to eastern region account manager, Sierra. Collins has represented a number of titles including Newsday, Rx Remedy Magazine and Fit.

Corporate Doug Roeder to vice president/general manager of The Travel & Leisure Group, from vice president/associate publisher of Travel & Leisure. John Papanek to senior vice president of ESPN The Magazine. He will continue as editor in chief. Rambabu Yarlagadda to chief financial officer at Upside Media Inc., from principal consultant and founder, Baba Worldwide.

Editorial & Art Amy Gross to editor in chief of 0, The Oprah Magazine. Gross, one of the founding editors of Mirabella, has been pursuing freelance projects since 1997. Marguerite Kramer to editorial director of ONE, from style director and vice president for Productopia.com. Nancy Perry Graham to executive editor of Family Money from senior editor of People.

Management Ellen AsmodeoGiglio to vice president/publisher of Travel & Leisure, from vice president/sales and marketing. Gini Talmadge to group publisher of Upside Media Inc. from publisher.

Marketing & Promotion Peggy Cozens, co-founder of Trans World, to vice president of consumer marketing for TransWorld Media, from vice president of TransWorld Magazine Corp. Debbie Weathers to director of communications at Forbes.com, from vice president of corporate communications at brandwise.com.
