Red Herring names CFO
A 20-year veteran in the fields of corporate finance, information technology and business development, Red Herring Communications CFO Douglas Jeffries will apply his experience to oversee all business and financial aspects of the San Francisco-based business technology company across its three platforms--Red Herring, Redherring.com and Red Herring Events.

Formerly vice president and CFO from 1997 to 1998 at Alaris Medical, a $400 million medical devices company based in San Diego, Jeffries has been involved in venture capital, public offerings and mergers and acquisitions financing as well as the design and development of proprietary e-commerce systems. He began his career with Price Waterhouse (now Price-waterhouse Coopers) in 1979, and in his 11-year stint served as senior manager of SEC services in the company's New York office and senior manager in the San Francisco office beginning in 1988. From 1992 through 1997 he assumed a series of division senior executive appointments with Cardinal Health, a $12 billion national healthcare firm, including vice president and CFO for the Pyxis Corporation (a division specializing in the marketing of pharmaceutical dispensary computers) and vice president of information systems for Cardinal Health.
A certified CPA in the state of California, Jeffries holds an M.B.A from the University of Southern California and a B.S. in accounting from the California State University, Chico.
