CYGNUS BUSINESS MEDIA $3,200 raised in employee donations. Will probably go to AmenCares; $1,400 in food/supplies/clothing to Melville, New York firehouse; $1,000 in employee donations to mother of Cygnus employee who lost her father.
GRUNER+JAHR USA PUBLISHING G+J majority owner Bertelsmann will donate $1 million to the New York Police Department and $1 million to the Fire Department of New York. There is also a matching donation fund, with no limit for donations.
HEARST MAGAZINES Matching individual employee gifts to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and the New York City Public/Private Initiatives. Limit for employee donations is undisclosed. Hearst will also hold a New York-based blood drive on Tuesday, October 2, and Thursday, October 4.
IDG Matching employee gift fund to United Way and the September 11 fund.
PRIMEDIA Matching fund up to $50,000. All will go to the Red Cross of Greater New York.
