Real Simple Names New Managing Editor

Carrie Tuhy, formerly assistant managing editor at InStyle, was named managing editor of Time Inc.'s Real Simple. She had been serving as acting managing editor since the resignation of founding managing editor Susan Wyland in May.

Tuhy joined Time Inc. company in 1978, and has worked at Money, and at Life. She was part of InStyle's founding team and was named assistant managing editor of the publication in January 1999.

Earlier, Tuhy worked as a reporter at Medill News Services, Forbes and the Chicago Tribune. She also spent two years at Fairchild Publications.

Advertising and Sales Mark Isik, Anne Tuomey and Brendan Ripp to Time's New York ad sales team as account managers. Isik was previously Eastern regional manager for Alta Vista; Tuomey had been account manager, Success; and Ripp had been account executive for Warner Lambert and UDV accounts at J. Walter Thompson. Bobbie Halfin to managing director of interactive media sales, Meredith Corporation, from interactive president, Winstar Communications. Daniel Cohn to national sales manager, Digital Art Exchange Inc. (DAX) from regional sales vice president at OSL.net

Corporate Gregory J. Osbert to executive vice president/worldwide publisher, Newsweek, from founding president of BrassRing.com, an Internet recruitment services company. Deborah Fine to vice president and publisher, Glamour, from publisher. Beth Ford to senior vice president of global operations for Scholastic Inc., from supply chain logistics executive with Pepsi Bottling Group.

Editorial & Art Teresa Ennis to editor, FOLIO:, from senior managing editor. Francis J. Reich to associate editor, The Writer, from freelance editor. Michele Promaulayko to executive editor, Cosmopolitan, from deputy editor.

Management Tony Silber to publisher, FOLIO: and Circulation Management, from editorial director, Folio:. Mike Dandrea to publisher, 1 to 1, from associate publisher, FOLIO: and Circulation Management.

Marketing & Promotion Maria Nitke to marketing director, Departures, from marketing communications director at Mondera.com.

New Media Richard Aaron to president, BizBash.com Idea Center, from president of the meeting and events division of Mallory Factor Inc. Dan O'Shea, founding editor of Upstart, was named content director of IndustryClick's TelecomClick.
