Folio: The Magazine for Magazine Management, Dec 1, 1999 by Jo Bennett
Each year, FOLIO: invites magazine editorial, design and circulation professionals to compete in our three awards programs: the Editorial Excellence Awards, the Ozzie Awards for Excellence in Magazine Design, and the Circulation Direct Marketing Awards. It's fitting for FOLIO: to recognize the industry's best work in these categories--editorial, design and circulation--because it underscores the team-oriented nature of magazine publishing and FOLIO:'s own approach to covering the industry.
Clearly, you've responded to these contests: This year, we received more than 1,800 total entries for the three programs. The following pages not only spotlight the winners, but stand as a rich testimony to the vitality and creativity that are the hallmarks of magazine publishing, across all disciplines and, indeed, across the publishing team.
