Folio: The Magazine for Magazine Management, Dec 15, 2001 by Joe Hagan
What magazines do you subscribe to?
We have a reputation for being very conservative, so it might surprise people that I subscribe to The New Republic.
What's your favorite section?
I read the whole thing. Up until the back section. I don't pay attention to the arts and film. I don't read that shit. It's just doesn't pique my interest like the rest of the magazine does.
What other magazines do you read?
Harper's, if I see something I like, The Atlantic Monthly, Foreign Policy. I get some gun magazines, too, just to see what's going on in the industry--Guns & Ammo, Guns and American Handgunner.
Which end up in a pile next to the bed?

Mostly newspapers--The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, both of which I subscribe to.
What's your favorite airport read?
The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post.
What's your favorite cultural magazine?
Surely you jest.
Literary magazine?
I don't think so.
What's the first Web site you look at each morning?
I go to newsmax.com. They have good coverage that is somewhat out of the mainstream, out of the major media. They don't deal with the same degree of pap that the other media present.
