'01 Awards

Folio: The Magazine for Magazine Management, Dec 15, 2001

We called on editors, designers and circulators across the magazine industry to stand up and be judged on their brightest ideas, most creative works, and trendsetting styles. They did not disappoint. Folio:'s 2001 awards program received more than 2,500 entries--a record-breaking number. The Editorial Excellence Awards, in particular, drew 55 percent more entrants than last year. And needing the advice of our judges, we expanded the Ozzie Awards to include two new categories this year: best use of black-and-white photography in a feature and best media kit.

Editorial Excellence, Ozzie and CDMA finalists were honored during the Folio: Show in New York City held in late October. On the following pages we show case the Gold Winners and offer observations from out judges that spotlight why a particular title won.
