Mark Finn to vice president, Northeast regional sales director, Business Week. He continues the role of vice president, advertising sales director for BusinessWeek TV. The company also promoted Paul Maraviglia from managing director Europe to international advertising director.

Bruce A. Nilsson to creative director and vice president, McMurry Advertising, the advertising arm of custom publisher McMurry family of companies. He is former vice president/creative director at EB Lane Marketing and Communications.

Doug Corper to Eastern ad director, Mountain Sports Media, a division of Time Inc.'s Time4 Media. Previously, he was Eastern ad director for Maximum Golf.

John lavarone to Detroit sales manager and John Patten to Eastern sales manager, National Geographic. lavarone was Detroit sales manager for Newsweek. Patten was New York sales manager, National Geographic.

Janine Cavallo Marks to pharmaceutical manager, Time Inc.'s Health, from health category manager, Ladies' Home Journal.

Gerry Kiernan to account manager. Smithsonian, from regional sales manager, The Industry Standard.

Bill Kelly and Rebecca Hoffman to advertising sales executives, Cooking Light. Kelly was an associate media director for McCann-Erickson Worldwide. Hoffman was executive beauty director for Conde Nast's Lucky.

CORPORATE

Gerald Levin, CEO, AOL Time Warner, announced he will retire in May. Richard Parsons, co-COO, will replace him as CEO.

Victor F. Ganzi has been named successor to Frank A. Bennack Jr., as president and CEO of The Hearst Corporation. Ganzi, COO, will assume Bennack's duties when Bennack retires in June.

Jeffrey T. Stevenson to name-partner and co-CEO of the newly named Veronis Suhler Stevenson. First named a partner in 1998, Stevenson also serves on the firm's executive committee and is head of the company's private equity operations.

Jeffrey W. Hamill to senior vice president, Hearst Magazines, from vice president, advertising sales and marketing.

Bruce Hallet to president of Sports lilustrated, from president, Time. Eileen Naughton, former vice president for investor relations at AOL Time Warner, takes over as president of Time.

Dale Strang to senior vice president, Ziff Davis Media's Game Group, from vice president.

John Failla to group president for Performance, Travel, Entertainment and Jewelry for VNU Expositions. He was president of Retail Media Group for VNU Business Publications.

Katie Brennan to group vice president, Cygnus Publishing Division, from vice president of business development, Watch IT.com, an e-learning company for IT and business professionals.

Wayne Eadie to senior vice president/ research for Magazine Publishers of America, from vice president of global advertising research for Reader's Digest.

Alan Glazener to senior vice president and an elected officer, Chile Pepper, from art director/creative director.

Justin B. Smith to general manager, Dennis Publishing's The Week, from president, The Economist Group's CFO.com.

Margaret Roach to editor in chief of all editorial content, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, from executive vice president of Internet/direct commerce. Shelly S. Nandkeolyar, former vice president of the eCommerce division of Williams-Sonoma, fills Roach's former spot.

Kevin Smith to editor in chief, Motor Trend, from manager of editorial development.

David Geracioti to editor, Beth Karlin to managing editor, Jason Black to senior editor, and Betsy Riley to staff editor, Primedia's Registered Representative. Geracioti was formerly a senior editor, Smart Money; Karlin was an editor at Investorforce; Black was a senior editor, Internet World; and Riley was former markets reporter, TheStreet.com.

Sara Schneider to senior editor of food, Sunset. She joined the magazine six years ago as a copy editor.

Ana Marie Cox to senior editor and Lisa Hisel to managing editor, The American Prospect. Cox was senior editor of The Chronicle of Higher Education. Hisel was managing editor of Washington, D.C. based Population Reference Bureau.

Eric Schurenberg to deputy managing editor, Business 2.0, from editor at large.

Peter Greenberg to contributing editor, Men's Health. Greenberg is the NBC "Today Show" travel editor.

Hilary Flora to managing editor, The Journal of Respiratory Diseases and The Journal of Critical Illness, from editorial director, Ventiv Medical Education.

Mike Levine to senior editor to oversee hockey coverage, ESPN The Magazine, from executive editor at the Times Herald-Record in Middletown, New York.

Diana Byrne to beauty director, Seventeen, from beauty and fitness director, YM.

Wendy Goodman to style editor. Departures, from interior design editor, New York.

Kristin Bradetich to associate art director, Pohly & Partners, from art director of VeloNews.
