Deals and Developments: AMERICAN SNOWMOBILER MOTORS TO KALMBACH

American Snowmobiler is making the long, icy voyage from Saint Paul, Minn. to Waukesha, Wis. Kalmbach Publishing Co., based in Waukesha, has acquired the 60,000-circ title. Kalmbach's other magazines cover model railroading, bird-watching, astronomy and other hobbies. "It's a little different direction for us, stretches us a little bit," says Kalmbach president Gerald "Butch" Boettcher. The magazine will temporarily continue to operate out of Saint Paul while it searches for a replacement for editor Jerry Bassett. Kalmbach publishes 15 magazines and has revenues of more than $50 million, according to Boettcher.
