Conde Nast Publications Inc. will suspend publication of Details, a fashion monthly for young men, as of its May issue. The title will then move to fellow Advance Publications Inc. unit Fairchild Publications, where it will be repositioned and relaunched as a consumer counterpart to the men's wear trade title, DNR.
Mark Golin, who left Maxim last year to serve as Details editor in chief, will be leaving the company.

In the second half of 1999, Details posted a total circulation of 542,000, representing only a 2.9 percent increase against a year ago. The title lost ground on the newsstand during that period, slipping nearly 15 percent. Meanwhile, ad pages dropped nearly 22 percent, to 880, last year.
