Corporate Finance changes name, frequency - Financial World Partners changes magazine's name to FW's Corporate Finance - Brief Article

Folio: The Magazine for Magazine Management, Oct 1, 1993

In an attempt to boost Financial World's circulation and advertising marketability, as well as improve the profitability of its flagging sister publication, Corporate Finance, parent company Financial World Partners changed the Corporate Finance name to FW's Corporate Finance with the October issue.

In addition, Corporate Finance now appears quarterly from eight times a year, and its controlled readership of 60,000 corporate managers will be added to FW's 500,000 circulation, according to Douglas A. McIntyre, president of FW Corporate Finance has faced tough economic conditions since its 1986 launch, one year before the stockmarket crash of 1987. "The market for vertical financial publications and their advertising has been fundamentally downhill since then," comments McIntyre. FW itself is down 4.5 percent in total ad pages through July 1993 compared to 1992, according to PIB figures. "We're hoping the name change will boost recognition. The more people who know FW, the better off we are," he says.
