Advanstar taps former Chilton chief as CEO - AdvanStar Communications Inc. appoints Ed Aster - Brief Article

Advanstar Communications, in its quest to overcome a legacy of debt and the fractious tenure of former CEO Ed Aster, has named former Chilton Company president Gary Ingersoll as its new CEO. His mandate: Restore Cleveland-based Advanstar to its previous profitability levels. The 58-year-old Ingersoll, most recently president of the commercial division at World Color Press, has a long history on the publishing side.

He had two stints as president of Chilton (1982-'83 and 1989-'92), and led Farm Progress Publishing Co., Hitchcock Publishing and Christian book and music publisher, Word Inc.
