Ringier adds offset capacity - Ringier America Inc - Brief Article

Folio: The Magazine for Magazine Management, March 1, 1994

Aiming for a larger presence in the offset market, Itasca, Illinois-based printer Ringier America says it has expanded its Jonesboro, Arkansas, magazine and catalog plant and installed a new offset press at the facility. Ringier says it added 200,000 square feet and took delivery of a new Rockwell G25W 48-page press.

The eight-unit, two-web press operates at speeds up to 3,000 feet-per-minute and allows 50 percent more pages per impression over the plant's existing presses. Ringier customers at Jonesboro include Elle and Newsweek. The installation and addition complete the first phase of the plants three-stage expansion, which will include further upgrades to the pressroom and bindery.
