Folio: The Magazine for Magazine Management, May 15, 1994

Quebecor Printing Inc., the second largest commercial printer in North America, is about to get bigger. The Montreal-based company is putting up $200 million to acquire the outstanding shares of Arcata Corp., based in San Francisco. It's all subject to due diligence, but if no problems are encountered, the deal is expected to close before the end of June.

Arcata had revenues in 1993 of $317 million and employs about 3,600 people in six U.S. plants. Quebecor has 65 printing and related facilities in Canada, France, Mexico and the states.
