* New Castle Hotels & Resorts acquired the Ramada hotel in Shelton, Conn., in a joint venture with Charlesbank Capital Partners LLC and Winston Hotels. The 160-room hotel is undergoing a $5-million renovation and will be reflagged as a Courtyard by Marriott by the first quarter of 2005.
