Pelican System announced the opening of an office in Las Vegas to introduce Pelican's online reservation and distribution system to the American market. Pelican is an Internet-based reservation system designed to manage all types of bookings, whether made directly by guests or through travel agents and corporate clients. It is designed to help hotels manage manual paper contracts with travel agents/corporate clients and offers instant confirmation for reservations from Internet users, travel agents and corporate clients from the hotels' Web sites.

Sceptre's Mark Ozawa and Connie Rheams unveiled two next-generation outsourced services: MaxE-Rev channel-manage-ment consulting and MaxTotal-Rev revenue-management consulting, which are designed to address industry demand in channel- and revenue-management consulting. The services are designed to be timely solutions for all hoteliers, regardless of the distribution technology used.

BookingCenter, a provider of integrated property-management systems, central reservations and global distribution to more than 1,700 properties, and SynXis, a provider of reservation services, announced the seamless integration of BookingCenter's PMSes with the SynXis connectivity to the global network of consumer travel Web sites, the Pegasus network and all major Global Distribution Systems. SynXis provides GDS connectivity and distribution to more than 1,200 Internet travel sites, which helps independent hotels manage their distribution channels directly from BookingCenter's PMSes. Hotel operators use BookingCenter's PMSes to manage a single image of their inventories, which automatically synchronizes distributed rate plans and availability between the two systems.

TravelCLICK showcased a combination of data, electronic marketing and enabling technology that work together to put hoteliers in a position to improve operational efficiency and maximize revenue from electronic channels. TravelCLICK's iHotelier central-reservation system and its most recent product introduction, ChannelManagers, allow hoteliers to efficiently manage rates and availability across all relevant channels, including their own Web site, all the GDSes, online travel retailers, their call center and third-party merchant sites.

WizCom International, a subsidiary of Cendant Corp. and a developer of connectivity technologies for the hotel industry, announced the release of a new enhancement to its RateManager technology, which further automates the request-for-proposal process by increasing the speed and accuracy of rate loading and decreasing the time, money and human resources traditionally invested in the process. RateManager, which is part of WizCom's Easy Access Plus suite of data-management technologies for hotels, can create and propagate a new negotiated rate from the RFP system to the Global Distribution System. WizCom also announced the upcoming release of a new enhanced version of Easy Access Plus - HOD, a data-management and distribution tool that allows hoteliers to centrally manage and deliver descriptive data on all of their properties to their distribution network.
