Sears Canada

Discount Store News, June 22, 1998

Sears Canada has announced that it will open its first Sears Whole Home Furniture and Appliance Store in Toronto. The 41,000-sq.-ft. store will be devoted to furniture, rugs and accent items as well as major home appliances. The announcement comes not long after the opening of Bed, Bath and More, a home specialty operation developed by Toronto-based Hudson's Bay, parent of The Bay department store and Zellers.

Sears has opened eight Whole Home Furniture outlets in Ontario, two in British Columbia and one in Quebec for a total of 11-with three including appliances-since 1995.
