EEOC cites Wal-Mart for ADA violations

Discount Store News, Nov 23, 1998

WASHINGTON, D.C -- The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a complaint against Wal-Mart, charging the company with violating the Americans With Disabilities Act.

The complaint is based on an incident involving a former associate at a Wal-Mart store in Bolingbrook, Ill. The associate was ordered by his doctor to be re-assigned to a desk job due to a disabling foot condition. The EEOC alleges that Wal-Mart failed to accommodate the employee.
