Trans World Music to market Web CDs - in alliance with CustomDisc.com - Brief Article

ALBANY N.Y. -- Trans World Music wants to be linked to the Web and is working to ingratiate itself to cybershoppers by marketing custom music CDs over its Web site with the help of CustomDisc.com. Internet users reaching www.twec.com, will be able to choose individual tracks from a music library of more than 185,000 songs provided by CustomDisc.com and create personalized CDs.

The two companies said they also expect to work with major record labels and artists to develop promotions involving Trans World's 520 retail stores, which include FYE, Coconuts and Tape World locations. Trans World cfo John. Sullivan said the company hopes to grab 5% of the on-line music "e-tail" market in 1999.
