Restoration Hardware

Discount Store News, Jan 4, 1999

> Corte Madera, Calif.-based Restoration Hardware--a hardware store for yuppies-opened 25 units in 1998 to end the year with 65. New stores include a recently opened two-story unit in New York City. A $63 million IPO in June is helping to finance expansion. The chain offers hard-to-find replicas of old-fashioned hardware pulls, plus a mix of pricey house-wares such as cut-glass salt cellars and silver-plated spoons, complete with velour carrying cases.
