> In a recent survey of U.S. house-holds, the market research firm Yankee Group found that 7% of respondents said they were very or somewhat likely to purchase a video game console within the next six months. However, when the same consumers were informed that the new generation of game machines cost about $199 and are equipped for Web access, e-mail and multiple-player Internet competition, the number of likely purchasers rose to 12%.
