With the ubiquitous reptiles prominent in the consumers minds, it would be reasonable to expect unified dinosaur departments in-store. Yet, with different scaly creatures appealing to different genders and age groups, cohesive displays are the exception not the rule.

One store that's trying is Caldor which created a "dinosaur sector" in girls? wear, a move in the right direction.

With all the publicity and exposure for Barney, Jurassic Park and the Flinstones, there is no doubt this is the year of the dinosaur. Now all retailers have to do is get a hold of some merchandise
