Looney Tunes Blues: get ready for a great 1995 back-to-school season - Looney Tunes Supplement

Discount Store News, August 21, 1995

Warner Bros. is preparing to launch its biggest Back-to-school Looney Tunes merchandising program yet with Looney Tunes Blues, a new sub-label within the overall brand. As the name implies, the program will feature the whole gang on assort denim or casual apparel, Back-to-School products and related accessories.

And WBCP will gain an even bigger presence in the Back-to-School category with a full line of Looney Tunes Blues products from licensee Stuart Hall Co. Stuart Hall teamed up with WBCP last year and will be rolling out its first line of Looney Tunes binders, notebooks, portfolios and memo pads during the 1995 Back-to-School season, said John MacWherter, Stuart Hall's Vice President of Merchandising.

"It's a new look for us this year," said MacWherter, adding that he is excited about the Looney Tunes Blues merchandise.

John Straus, Executive Vice President of Licensing at Bibb Company, said the bedding company has already started shipping its Looney Tunes Blues sheets, comforters and pillow cases.

Sea-Bell and West Clox are also excited about the new Looney Tunes program. Sea-Bell is now developing a new line of fashions for 1996, when VMCP will roll out the next stage of Looney Tunes Blues. Taking the 1995 Blues line to new heights, WBCP will introduce new colors and patterns with a casual theme.

West Clox, which just rolled out 15 new Looney Tunes clock designs, also plans to take advantage of the new Back-to-School program. Amy Martin, West Clox' Looney Tunes Product Manager, said Back-to-School is one of the company's most important selling seasons and the Blues program will only add to those sales. "Looney Tunes Blues will be something kids and parents look forward to all season," she said.
