7-Eleven to offer prescription cards

Discount Store News, Sept 7, 1998

The cards will be supported by JCPenney's insurance and Eckerd drugstore units. They will also be accepted at Kmart, Winn-Dixie and Drug Emporium. If successful, the test will be expanded to more than 1,000 7-Elevens nationwide.

Priced at $9.95, the card is good for three months and is worth up to 20% off brand-name prescription drugs, 35% off generic drugs and 45% off mailorder prescription drugs. It can also be used for a discount of up to 50% off on contact lenses, glasses, nonprescription sunglasses and hearing products.
