Jamesway Exec Team Shuffle Continues

SECAUCUS, N.J. -- Jamesway Corp. has added three new members to its management team. This makes a total of five new appointments at the 132-unit discounter in the last few months.

The newest members of the Jamesway team include:

* Paul Roth, senior vice president and general merchandiser in charge of soft lines. Previously, he was senior vice president of Macy's Southeast. * Jane Greenspan-Sims, divisional merchandise manager of the ladies' sportswear division. She had been divisional merchandise manager at Macy's New York. * Joseph Kassa, director of advertising and sales promotion. He was formerly director of advertising at Consumer Distributors.

According to a company release, the appointment of a new president to succeed Arlie Lazarus, who left last year, is imminent.

Jamesway has been struggling with poor sales performance and recorded a decrease of 4% in same store sales for the last quarter ended Feb. 4, 1991. Unlike other troubled retailers, however, Jamesway is not heavily laden with debt. Herbert Fisher, chairman, noted that "with our new management team in place and our strong balance sheet, Jamesway has bright prospects for the future."
