The National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association's first ever Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) Regulatory Summit brought together 125 registrants to the conference, held Oct. 4 - 6 in Alexandria, Va. They heard keynote presentations from David Lauriski, assistant secretary of Labor for Mine Safety and Health and Ann Klee, general counsel for the Environmental Protection Agency.

In addition, in a panel discussion to close the event, unique perspectives on regulatory development were offered by Paul Noe of the Office of Management and Budget; Charley Maresca, assistant chief counsel, Small Business Administration; and David Menotti, an attorney specializing in ESH matters with the Shaw Pittman law firm in Washington.
