Chromium Corp.'s Crodon wear plate is a cost-effective and durable alternative to traditional high-alumina ceramic and abrasion-resistant wear plates. Crodon wear plate is created through a proprietary process that applies a dense, highly adherent layer of abrasive and impact-resistant material to the surface of ferrous-based materials. It is made up of the extremely durable Crodon wear surface, the company says, a proprietary finish and a steel base metal. The wear plate can be fabricated into sheets, strips or rolled on the inner or outer diameter to unique dimensions as tight as 6-in. on the radius.
