On track to better crushing

Pit & Quarry, March, 2004

The Nordberg LT1213S is the newest member of Metso Minerals' mobile crushing plant series for contractors. The track-mounted LT1213S features a single-deck screen and an extended discharge conveyor. This combination allows the unit to produce two aggregate grades in a single-stage crushing operation, or to operate as a normal primary crusher with the screen removed.

Metso Minerals developed an entirely new NP Series impact crusher, the NP1213M, for the LT1213 and LT1213S crushing plants. This crusher has been specially engineered for mobile applications, with a sturdy construction, high production capacity and durability. The NP1213M can crush both blasted rock and any mineral-based demolition debris.

The LT1213S combines high efficiency with flexibility and ease of use. A 3-ft 7-in. x 13-ft 8-in. (1,100 mm x 4,500 mm) grizzly feeder maximizes the overall production through efficient removal of fines from the feed material. The new crushing plant also features an 8-cu.-yd. (6-cu.-m) capacity feed hopper with hydraulic folding walls.

The unit's TK screen ensures production of two products on a single plant. Screen mesh sizes of 3/4 in. to 3 in. (20 to 80 mm) can be used. Using the hydraulic lowering system, the screen can be opened easily for servicing and screen mesh change.
