Software now industrial IT enabled

The Complete Device Management Solution is now industrial IT enabled. The solution is a suite of hardware and software products from Meriam that includes the MFT4000 series multifunction tester, the MFC4100 series multifunction communicator and DMS (device management system) software.

The integration of the company's Asset Optimization products with Meriam's DMS and third party CMMS systems provides an environment for early detection of field problems and streamlined work processes for remediation activities, according to the companies.

The DMS software features the ability to configure and calibrate HART and conventional field devices and to manage their life cycle costs. With the MFT4000 series documenting calibrators and MFC4100 series HART communicators, conventional and HART devices are configured and commissioned in minutes, according to the companies. The Quick-Cal and Smart Trim features are said to permit fast calibration of these devices, shortening the commissioning process and minimizing the length of preventive maintenance shutdown periods.

Industrial IT-enabled products have been tested and certified for compliance with industrial IT standards for information, integration and architecture. The DMS will provide users with direct access to and use of calibration solutions to increase asset visibility and improve overall control throughout their plant, according to the company.
