Free model publishing and viewing software
Modern Machine Shop, June, 2003 by Shauna R. Steigerwald
The company has released its free ModelPress Publisher 3.0 3D model software product, which now supports Inventor R6 and SolidWorks 2003. The product also has an available programming API specification for software developers.
This system is designed to simplify the distribution of 3D CAD models. The company says this software's compression technology reduces models sizes by 70 to 98 percent. The software is said to provide an efficient way to share 3D CAD model content with users who don't have access to expensive 3D applications while protecting the intellectual property contained in the design file.
