Coil Fed Screw Machine

Modern Machine Shop, August, 2000

The ESCO New Mach CNC 647 combines coil fed economy with CNC flexibility and is useful for short and long runs of precision parts up to 1/4" diameter, the company says. The CNC 647 features a 12,000 rpm rotating toolhead, four independent cutting tools and extensive backworking capabilities, including cross drilling, threading, milling and broaching. The latest option allows the rotation of the part in the pickup spindle with C-axis interpolation or at a turning speed of up to 4,000 rpm.

The K'MX XL 32 Swiss-type turning center also will be displayed. With 32-mm bar capacity, maximum spindle speed of 8,000 rpm and stroke of 350 mm, the XL 32 allows for simultaneous machining with four tools.
