Time-Saving Centerless Grinder

Modern Machine Shop, August, 2000

The company will demonstrate its KC-300 five-axis CNC combination-type in-feed] through-feed centerless grinding machine with automatic parts feeder, autoloading and automatic sizing. The highly rigid grinder is designed for production runs of parts in the 1.6 mm to 120mm diameter range.

The machine is equipped with independently operating upper and lower regulating wheel slides. The upper and lower regulating wheel slides maintain the center height of the workpiece between the wheels during grinding, assuring consistent roundness and surface finish. During the grinding cycle, the machine assures that the center height of the shaft is consistently located to permit top finish quality during the finish grind segment of the cycle, the company says.
