CAM Software Is Productive

Modern Machine Shop, August, 2000

PartMaker CAD/CAM software is designed to program CNC mills, lathes, turn-mill centers and CNC Swiss-type lathes. Version 4.0 features a user interface for Windows 95, 98, 2000 and NT, as well as enhanced drafting and machining functionality and Internet-linked context sensitive help.

PartMaker uses the Visual Programming approach to simplify CNC programming.

Enhanced drafting functionality includes the ability to create circles through three arbitrary points and includes a powerful panning feature. Machining improvements include more efficient grooving cycles and greater flexibility in threading and broaching operations. For Swiss-turning users, an enhanced sliding stock simulation has been added, showing the machined parts' movement through the guide bushing.

This new version also includes an enhanced post configuration utility allowing users to customize post processors for programming situations for multi-axis turn-mill centers and Swiss-type lathes where numerous programs must be generated simultaneously.
