Job shop production control software

Modern Machine Shop, Sept, 2002 by Shauna R. Pope

Job Master is a new full-featured manufacturing, production and control software designed specifically for the small to medium-sized manufacturers and job shops.

The software is a networkable, all-in-one program, containing all the modules required for production control and tracking in ready to install form. It contains a full quotation module, sales order module, sales commission tracking, inspection scheduling and report, certification documentation, production, invoicing, P.O. and RFQ, and a full shipping module including packing slip production and tracking of partial shipments. The software also offers links to Quick Books, Peach Tree and Excel. An intuitive and self-prompting structure with drop-down menus allows users to follow the natural flow of the manufacturing process.

Sales functions of the program include developing quotes and revisions with history; sales proposals; canned cover letters; calculating margins, taxes and commissions. Purchasing functions include purchased parts requisition; drawing from inventory: issuing RFQs, purchase orders, reorders; inventory overage/underage; and material certifications. Production functions include converting the final quote into editable sales order/order acknowledgment; automated shop work order entry (shop travelers, routing sheets, flow charts); shippers, shipping forms and invoices.

Single data entry makes all information available in every part of the program. Auto-fill functions, find/search functions and spell cheek are included. Password access to program modules and confidential data can be assigned on a "three level" password basis.
