Precision Design Software
Modern Machine Shop, Oct, 2001 by Elizabeth M. Gruber
The company has announced the next generation of precision design software: Designer Elements. Built on ease-of-use and functionality, this new line of design software adds customer-driven enhancements to six new products. The Designer Elements product line includes Graphite, Neon, Argon, Xenon and Cobalt. While continuing to uphold drafting and industrial design customers, this new product lineup also embraces professionals doing precision 3D Web, print and broadcast content creation. It is available on both Macintosh and Windows platforms.
The company says it has taken its former product line, including Vellum Solids, expanded its power and rolled out fresh, superior products, including the new flagship, Cobalt. For customers who don't need all the power of the top-end program, Xenon and Argon are now available to fill their needs. By offering a varying array of products, the company gives design professions exactly the tools they need for a particular job.
Graphite for professional drafting upholds the company's commitment to increased productivity for traditional drafting techniques and enhances design creativity while maintaining demanding precision and exacting drafting standards. It facilitates rapid drawing creation, variation in shapes and design iterations required to bring new ideas into production. This program enables customers to focus on the task at hand, not on running the software.
Neon for 3D publishing is said to be key for winning advance orders and contract commitments with exact 3D product presentation prior to production. It provides the tools that sales and marketing teams need to turn precise engineering data into 3D presentations. Neon uses 3D engineering models to create marketing models, renderings and animations for the Web or print.
